BEST IN SHOW LINE UP AT THE MONOGRAFICA
It was a lovely weekend for the British visitors to portugal, having the opportunity to see 3 shows over 3 days.
Friday saw the Portuguese Breeds Show in the morning and the Portuguese Podengo show in the afternoon. It was a great chance for the British Club members to see lots of Podengos in all of the 3 sizes.
The show in the afternoon was a Special show and we saw history in the making...........Plushcourt Amigo with breeder Betty Judge was the first British Podengo to go Best in Show, and the fact that it was at a Portuguese Club show was even better!!!!!

It certainly brought the profile of the UK Podengo's to the fore.
Throughout the weekend, Betty won 1 CAC-Q.C & 1 CAC with Amigo, 1 CAC-Q.C with Plushcourt Borboleta and 1 CAC-Q.C. with Plushcourt Maquette.
On the first day, Borboleta was Best Bitch, and at the Monografica, Maquette was Best Bitch. A great accomplishment amongst the many Podengo's on show.

After the Monografica, the Judges, Exhibitors & Visitors all sat down to a beautiful meal with the wine being made in the Cartaxo region.
An enormous cake was brought out and distributed in huge slices to everyone. It was in the shape and colours of the Portuguese Club logo and had candles and sparklers lit.
We then went into another hall where the representatives of the Swedish & Swiss Podengo Clubs signed the Lisbon Protocol.
Again, we had a huge buffet set out and plenty of wine!
The Portuguese people welcomed everyone with open arms and were so nice and friendly towards us that we are already looking forward to next year!
